"From Vincent Chin to Virginia Tech" -- A 25th Anniversary Commemoration of Vincent Chin

"Who Killed Vincent Chin?" will be screened next weekend with a moderated discussion. This was an Academy Award nominated documentary that was shown at the first APA Film Festival.

This event is set to be held at the MLK Library (901 G Street) in Chinatown at 10:30AM on Saturday, June 23, 2007--the actual anniversary date.

As part of the National Townhall on Hate Crimes, sponsored by APAs for Progress, which will be holding events in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and in Michigan, we will be holding a film screening of an award-winning film documentary "Who Killed Vincent Chin," followed by a facilitated discussion to that about how the Vincent Chin tragedy, despite how far we have come in the civil rights movement, is still salient in the APA community today in light of 9/11 and the V-Tech tragedy.

This event is currently sponsored by (list in progress): APAs for Progress, South Asian American Leaders for Tomorrow, Japanese American Citizens League (National and DC Chapter), and the DC APA Film Festival.
